On My Bicycle

Do you remember those bicycles with the funky handlebars and the awesome banana seats? When I was a little girl, my best friend Annie had the coolest flowers on her banana seat. I always remember being a bit envious of it....and now looking back on it, I'm not sure exactly why.

Well, that little story is the inspiration behind this card that I made for the latest Moxie Fab Challenge. Because of my infatuation of bicycle seats as a young girl, I had to make this bike's seat a little special! Wouldn't ya just love to sit on a glittery yellow seat?
This yellow bicycle kinda reminds me of some of the super fun brightly colored beach cruisers that are available to rent when we take our annual trip to Sunriver. We always have bikes at the house that we rent, so there is no need to rent one, but I always find myself eyeing those fun looking bikes.

Here's a close-up of the bike!
So I guess this card is for me! Just had to make myself a fun glittery seated bike. I also am in love with the sentiment. Life is ALL about the journey, so we best enjoy the ride. Each and every precious moment of it.

I hope you are enjoying the ride on your life's journey! Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

SPCC #53

It's been a long time since I have had a chance to play along with an SPCC color challenge!
And although I should TOTALLY be doing something else, I chose to come down and make a card.Since two of these colors are being retired by Stampin' UP, (or in my book, already retired, since I just went through all my stuff and purged all the old and re-organized according to the new Color Renovation) I had to dig a bit to find the ink pads!!! I made a really simple card. One that could be easily mass produced.....although cutting out the little butterfly would get to be a bit old after about 3 or 4 of them. I wanted to use one of my Martha Stewart butterfly punches, but a friend of mine borrowed them, and is currently on vacation, so what's a girl to do?

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

SUBMITTED

Hi there!
I submitted my first card to Paper Crafts Magazine today. Something I've always wanted to do but just never have. Kind of exciting to try something new! I'll keep y'all posted on what happens.
I couldn't post without putting a card up, though, and since I can't post the one I submitted, I'm showing you this one. A very simple thank you that I 'sort of cased' from a sample at one of my favorite stamp stores.

I wish I could stamp more tonight. I am so in the mood to get my craft on! But, I just nursed Kellan (while I was submitting my card to Paper Crafts, mind you!) and I should go to bed and get some sleep while he is doing the same.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day weekend!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

EBTKS Challenge #17 - Take Two!

This is the 3rd post for today, so keep on going if you want to see the others!

Hi there!
I've been madly trying to get a bunch of stamping stuff done tonight! Coach gifts, teacher gifts, client gifts, but this idea just popped into my head for a card for this challenge. I've been thinking about the card I made for this challenge earlier today, and the more I think about it the less excited I am becoming about it. I guess it's not exactly that I don't like it, I just like this card more!
I had this flower stamp sitting out on my table, left out from the gift I made for Cody's teacher, and thought it would lend itself perfectly for this card!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
Supplies:
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White (SU)
nks: Real Red, Cameo Coral (SU)
Stamps: Flower (Impress) Sentiment (PTI -Signature Greetings)
Other: Black Hemp Twine, Diamonds

Embellish Color Challenge

Hi!
Wanted to get this card posted for this challenge! I originally wanted to do something with flowers, but last night while reading in bed, the idea came to me to use these little houses. I think the idea in my head was a lot cuter than how it turned out in reality....does that ever happen to you?
And as I'm typing this post, I just realized that this challenge as supposed to use labels too! Oops! Can y'all tell I'm a bit sleep deprived these days? Kellan's almost 8 weeks old, and I think the lack of sleep is beginning to catch up with me!

Anyway, gonna keep this post short, I have a set of cards that I'm trying to finish up for one of Kerry's clients so he can deliver it to her tomorrow!

Paper: Very Vanilla (SU)

EBTKS Challenge #17

I had so much fun with the last EBTKS challenge, and was so thrilled to have been picked as one of the 5 divas ( thanks, ladies! ), and I found myself so excited for the next challenge!
Well, I saw this sketch challenge from Winter, and immediately knew what I wanted to do. The only thing is I think I took the sketch too literally. Oh well!
And here's a close up of the chandelier.
Gonna keep this short, Kellan is sleeping in his swing and Sam is watching some Scooby-Doo! I want to have some time with my boys this afternoon before we go and pick up Cody and Dylan from school.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.
Oh, and if ya haven't had a chance to check out my new blog, you can do that here!

A Masculine Card for a New Chalenge!

Okay, so here goes the story of how this card came about! Can you believe that there is actually a story behind a card? Well here goes.
I bought this cozy little recliner stamp a couple of weeks ago. Thought it would be perfect to do some Father's day cards. I haven't had a chance to use it (I wonder why) although I sorta had a few ideas churning around in my little noggin!

Then, today I was picked as one of the 'divas' from the latest EBTKS challenge which used nail polish. (If you would like to see that card you can click here.) Well, there was a gal, Karen Baker, whom I'm sure some of you know.....and she left a comment on that post.....(thanks Karen for your kind words!) and so I had to check out her blog, which I then realized I had visited before, (it's a small blog-world), and from her site I found a new challenge blog!

Now, y'all know how I love me a new challenge. Well, my card is for the CAS challenge blog. And this weeks challenge, I believe they are weekly challenges, was to use buttons!!!! And oh, how I love buttons. It was at that moment that the idea for this card jumped into my mind!
Here's a little close up of the chair and buttons!
But the story doesn't end there. I wanted to make the card and get it posted and uploaded to the challenge.....but I had a challenge preventing me from doing so. My good natured, lovey, happy 7 week old (as of just today) was giving me a run for my money. Boy, did he get cranky tonight.....he wasn't letting Kerry hold him, was screaming like no other, which I believe he cried and screamed more tonight than he has in his entire 7 week existence to this point.
After finally calming Kellan down, I was able to get him to sit in his bouncy chair in the kitchen, and so I grabbed the few things I needed for this card (thank heaven for CAS) and ran back up to the kitchen and made this card in the dark, sitting at the kitchen table while listening to the wonderful music of the bouncy chair!

I'm just so happy I got to make a card. Now I just need to snap a picture of it....but as I'm sitting here at the table typing this, my little mister is getting cranky once again.....hopefully I can get him to sleep and then finish this post.

Sorry this has been so long winded!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

My Second Card For KW Color Inspiration #3

So here is the 2nd card I made for Kristina's color inspiration challenge. You can see the first card if ya just keep on scrolling down. I posted it last night. Or you can click here. It's taken me longer to get my stampin mojo back than I had anticipated, and neither card that I made is screaming 'awesome' at me. But it's something I guess. I just realized that the boys' basketball hoop is in the background of this pic! Oops. But Kellan is sleeping right now, and I still have to get some laundry switched out before he wakes up, so this picture will just have to do!

Gonna make this short, I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, and this morning with pretty much a full blown cold. Yuck. Going to try to rest as much as possible today so that I can make it to all the baseball games tomorrow, as well as Sam's trophy party. Yeah for the last weekend of baseball. I am so ready to have my life not be scheduled for the next few months!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

KW Reader's Choice Color Inspiration #3 - A Thankful Tree

Love these colors!
I have had the idea for this card in my head....but wasn't going to incorporate purples into it. Then I came across Kristina's challenge, and thought that the purple might lend itself to the card, and so here it is:Not the best picture, I know, but I just wanted to get it posted, cuz who knows when I'm gonna get back here.....could be a day, could be a week!
Gonna keep it short tonight....the boys are still up and need to get to bed, and Kerry has been holding the baby for a while now since I have been doing a little stamping and a little blogging! What a good husband I have! So lucky to be getting some stamping in! And so grateful for it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

EBTKS Challenge #16 - Nail Polish Is Tough!

Okay, so I first saw this challenge a number of days ago....and at first glance, I thought it was using nail polish as a color inspiration.
Oh, how I was wrong!

Then I realized that it was actually using nail polish on a card. I completely blew it off thinking that there would be no way I could do that. My creative mojo is making a very slow return after the birth of Kellan 6 weeks ago. Not to mention that my time is very limited.

I became very intrigued by this challenge, but didn't think I would be able to get to it. But tonight after I picked Cody up from Scouts, I just didn't come upstairs....I just hid out in my stamping dungeon.....no one would notice that mom wasn't around, right? Well, I managed to buy myself about 20 minutes in which I was able to make this card:

Here's a close up of the nail polish flowers! What I didn't realize was how tough of a medium nail polish would be. Thanks for the challenge, ladies! I just figured that I would color the flowers and it would be like using a marker, right? WRONG! I had to place a few drops on the paper and then I used a pall point pen to "drag" the nail polish around to make the flowers in the shape I wanted them. They are a bit abstract, but they are growing on me!

The patterned paper is from Memory Box, and the Nail Polish is OPI: California Raspberry, Chapel of Love, and the name on the third bottle wore off, so I don't know!

The best part of this is that I found the color I'm going to use at my pedicure tomorrow.....I'm going with California Raspberry!

Oh, and I can't get a blog post in without a pic of my new favorite guy! He's growing so fast, I can't believe how big he's gotten!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

A Card for Sketchy Thursday #86

I am so happy to be able to play along with my friend Tracy with her weekly sketch challenge, Sketchy Thursday!I had my 6 week OB apt. on Friday, and since I was down in Seattle, I decided to stop by my favorite stamp store and I picked up this super cute paper from Memory Box that I used on this card.
Gonna keep this short, Kellan is sitting in his bouncy chair, and getting REALLY cranky.....he needs to be cuddled to sleep!
And of course I have to post a pic of Kellan....Dylan has been very into my camera lately.....usually the pictures he takes aren't that great(mostly because of the subject matter a six year old chooses......ya know the inside of his brothers mouth or something like that).....but this one of Kellan turned out okay.
Oh, and if you haven't checked out my new blog, you can do that here!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

A Surf's Up Farwell

I am having my first card class since Kellan was born. I decided to combine it with my annual stamping open house. I will be selling off many of my own stamp sets, as well as offering free shipping on all SU orders placed that night.
I actually love it when SU changes things up. And I am so excited for the new colors, and the new plan for the In-Colors as well. But at the same time, they are retiring a few of my most loved colors: Cameo Coral, Taken With Teal, and Ruby Red just to name a few. So I decided that.

I had to make a card for tomorrow night that incorporated a couple of those colors as we say farewell to them.
I am almost finished prepping for tomorrow night....thankfully, Kellan has been sleeping since I got home from school with the boys about 40 minutes ago. Then all I have to do is clean up the craft area for everyone to be able to stamp tomorrow night. I don't think this area has been paid any attention since weeks before Kellan was born. But I'm totally ready to tackle it!!! Hopefully I won't get side tracked like I usually do, and it will all be finished by tomorrow!
And of course I had to add a picture of Kerry and Kellan!!! It was raining SO hard today, that Kerry decided to come home for lunch, and the two boys watched some baseball together, well atleast one of them was watching.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
And if ya haven't checked out my new blog.....you can do that here!
