KW Color Inspiration #51 - The sweetest flower!

Here's to another 50, Kristina! Love these color challenges! I was so happy to find a new one today! It was just what I needed to relieve some stress from this week - it's Staff Appreciation Week at School this week, and I'm the woman in charge!!! I can't wait 'till Friday!

Well, I loved these colors, and I started out making a card...got about half way through it....stopped and started a completely different card. Here is the second card I did. I might still go back and finish the first one, and if Kristina is allowing more that one entry....I may just enter that one as well.

I went a little button crazy on this card, but I think it works. I used some Rose Red DSP I had from a little pack a year or so back....some of my favorite 5/8 Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, and those darling flowers from the Petal Pizzazz set. (SU) The sentiment is from a set from Papertrey Ink, and the little tiny "blings" on the rose red flower are from Taylored Expressions...I thought they were so exciting on this flower!

TCP Challenge - Flower Drinks!

I can't believe I'm posting during "Hell Week". I must really have an addiction! LOL! I managed to make all 65 little pouches....I snapped some quick pics that I will try to get posted tomorrow.

Today I had a quick little moment to make a card for TCP color challenge. I don't know if I have ever used these colors in combination with each other, and only each other...but I really liked them!

So without anything further, here's my card. I just got this stamp on Saturday, I thought it was so cute and have been dying to use it, and this was my chance!

Yeah! I did it on Monday!

I don't know if I've ever finished my Mojo Monday Sketch on Monday. But today I did it! Not only that, but I did it during what is probably one of the busiest weeks of my entire year: School Staff Appreciation Week. But I have one day down, and 4 to go, and I only have to make 65 candy-holding-paper-pouches! I have them all scored, now I just have to stamp, cut, assemble and embellish.....and hopefully get to be before 2am! Needless to say, those will most likely be my post for tomorrow....I hope they turn out cute! I'm doing them all in an assortment of the SU in colors....

But now about this card. All patterned paper is from BasicGrey 'Marraketch' Line....I picked up like 4 BasicGrey paper pads on Friday....yes I know, I have totally and completely broken my rule about no new patterned paper, but ya know what? I'm completely okay with that...because I love all this paper! Other papers used: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, and Groovy Guava. Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red. I used chocolate taffeta Ribbon, Always & Great Friend stamp sets, and some little tiny Twinkles from Taylored Expressions. I also used my cuttlebug circles embossing folder, and the red dot in the middle of the flower? Somethin' I picked up at Michaels, I think.....

Dragonfly Simplification

Wow. I am amazed at how quickly I feel like I'm back. Last night I worked on a couple of cards, more for stress relief than anything else. I tissue papered and cellophaned 65 plants last night for staff appreciation today....I needed a little down time after that, so I stamped! And I was really happy with what I created. What an awesome feeling!

Here's one of the cards I did. The patterned paper I used is from BasicGrey. The 'Wisteria' line. These typically are not the color palates that I would choose, but I have to say, I'm really happy with the result. All the designs in this line are really awesome. I decided to re-do Jen's SFYTT, (hope ya don't mind a second card from me, Jen) since I wasn't 100% pleased with the first one I linked to her site.

The stamped image here is from Stampendous, Card Stock is Whisper White, Baja Breeze, River Rock, I used Basic Black, soft sky, bordering blue, eggplant envy, so saffron, and baja breeze inks. And the ribbon is vanilla taffeta from SU! And of course I couldn't resist the GLITTER on the dragon fly wings.....it's dazzling diamonds, also SU!

Back to Basics

Have you ever felt like you're just stampin' and creating, but for some reason it's just not fulfilling you in the way that it should? Or maybe you've turned out card after card, and just haven't been really excited about any of them? Well, that's how I've been feeling lately. I just haven't been happy with what I've been creating...I don't know if I've been trying too hard, but it seems like every now and then I get this way....usually my answer is to take a little stamping hiatus, but with having to teach card class this week, I don't really know if that will be possible. My next answer, was just to SIMPLIFY. And this card was the result of that.

Pretty basic, pretty simple, don't ya think? I hope that with this card I will kind of rekindle my "mojo" so to speak! And I hope I have a good week this week and can turn out some stuff that I'm really excited about!

This card used Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Whisper White Card Stock. The patterned paper is from Basic Gray 'Wisteria'. Stamps are SU, Stampendous, and Wordsworth. Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Corner Rounder punch.....both SU!

Hope y'all have a great week....I am in charge of staff appreciation this week at school, so I don't know how much posting I'll get to....

Love these birdies!

Hey! It's Saturday night, and for the life of me, I don't know what happened to today! It's gone and I have nothing to show for it, not even a bunch of clean laundry! But I did manage to get this card done for one of my favorite challenges....Jen's SFYTT!

I just got these birds from All that Scraps this week, and I have to say, that I love 'em! They are just so cute! If I hugged stamps, I'd hug em! And as I was printing out Jen's sketch, and trying to figure out what colors, paper etc. I would use, there was a knock at my door with my postman delivering none other than a little package from Two Peas which had both these patterned papers that you see here one the card! So I had to use those, and there ya have it....the rest just fell into place!

For this card I used Close to Cocoa, Whisper White, So Saffron, Groovy Guava, Baja Breeze papers. Guava, Saffron, Cocoa, Black, & Soft Sky ink. Swiss dots embossing folder (one of my favs) some soft sky ribbon, cocoa velvet ribbon, and those cute little flowers from Taylored Expressions!

And here's the inside of the card:

Maybe a cupcake will help!

Today has been a crapy day! I broke my cuttlebug machine, and although I do have other die cutting machine....my little 'bug' was my favorite....guess I'll just have to dig for a michaels or Joann's coupon and go get me another this weekend.

So I had to go see my doctor, downtown Seattle this morning, so while I was making the trek, I decided to stop in at one of my favorite stamp stores that I don't get to very much because of the distance....I found these totally cute acryllic stamps of cupcakes....and acryllics are not my favorite, but they were just too cute to pass up! Well, they're not inkin' up like I want 'em to, but I managed to make a card for TECC anyway! And here it is. I love the sentiment, and I'm hoping that it proves true today. I'm going to make black bottom cupcakes after I go pick up Cody from school!
