A Little Something Different

I can't believe I haven't posted in 10 days! I don't know what I have been doing exactly, but I've been quite busy....I don't think that I have quite fully recovered from having the boys home last week on break.....and then this week has just been crazy with events as well.

Well, since I don't have a card to share today, I thought I would share a picture of what I have been up to.....being with my kids.
We went up to the school one day last week during break. They had set their scooters up against the fence....it was just so cute I had to snap a picture of it.

Its pictures like this that really make me appreciate being a mom. As much as they drive me absolutely insane, there is nothing I would rather be here on this earth, than 'mom' to each one of them.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Great and Simple Thanks

I originally started this post on Saturday, but never got the chance to finish it. And now, it's Tuesday, and I can't believe I haven't posted in a week! I don't know how much I'm going to get the chance to stamp and play and post this week either, since all my kiddos are on break this week from school.....so I will be busy with them, instead of doing my own thing.....but I did get to sleep in until after 10:30 this morning, so I'm grateful for that!!!
Now onto what I originally started on Saturday!!!

Well, I have to start off with the simple thanks.....that's this card, very simple, I think, and very quick and easy to do.
My GREAT thanks comes in this way: I went to a baby shower last night for a gal I know, and had to leave just as Kerry was getting home so we didn't have time to talk at all. When I returned home, we were able to catch up on not only the day, but the week, really. It's been that crazy, that I haven't even had a decent conversation with my husband in days. We own our own business, but he still sub contracts for the guy he has worked for for over 10 years. This week he told Kerry that he would give us a week's worth of pay without Kerry having to work when the baby comes in April! Wow! That's like paternity leave!!!!! YAY! I can't even tell you how excited I am. With the other three kids, he's been able to take like a day or two, and those were mainly the days I was in the hospital. This is going to be incredible.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

A Pink Tuesday Trigger

This picture for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger is so yummy! And I LOVE all that pink! With 3 boys and my 4th package of testosterone on the way in about 9 weeks, there is not a whole lot a pink going on in my world if ya know what I mean!!!
And OH MY, I had such a fun time making this card! I busted out every single pink ink pad I own, which is only 6, mind you. And I just stamped and punched and cut.....so much fun! I was like a giddy little school girl!

These were such fun colors, I had a blast making this card, and it even has real minimal stamping! Well, I best get going, gonna keep this short so I can actually get back to all the things that I should have been doing in the first place!

A litttle love for my neglected stamps!

Oh, I'm so happy I got to play along with Tracy's Sketchy Thursday before Wednesday night at midnight, like I did last week! LOL!
I saw that Tracy used some of the Basic Grey Origins line for her card, and well, Tracy, you inspired me! Only I didn't use the pretty patterns. I decided on the more utilitarian ones....well mostly because I don't really know how well flowers go with robots and little boy birthday cards! Also, it seems like I always use up the amazing "pretty papers" first, and then have all these "not so exciting" papers left over, which I hang onto for what seems like forever and then realize I'm not going to use them and let my kids have them!

Okay, enough blabber....here's my card:
This card is really simple, perhaps too simple, I don't know....this was the first time I have inked up this little robot guy.....I think I've had him for almost a year now! Poor little guy has seen now love until now!

Boy cards are SO hard for me, which is most likely why my boys never get a card on their birthday from mom! Isn't that sad? I think I might save this and give it to my little Sam. He will be 5 in April, right about the time the baby is due.....I just hope they don't end up with the same birthday!

Well, I gotta go and get dinner going!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Hearts for a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Here's the card I made for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. I feel like I'm all "Valentined Out" already and Valentine's Day isn't even until Sunday! Crazy!
So I made this card with hearts, but I think I might put a birthday sentiment on the inside and use it for that instead of Valentines.
Gotta run, and go pick up the boys from school!

a BRIGHT color challenge

Wow, these were bright colors! But so fun and cheery! I pulled out one of my oldest SU sets for this card......Buds n' Blossoms. So many other SU sets have gone to other homes.....but for some reason, I just have never been able to part with this set. Call me crazy!Well, here is the card I made for this challenge......I have a few more ideas in my head for cards using these colors, we'll just have to see if I can get around to making them. But I at least wanted to get one card posted and submitted to play in this challenge!
Actually, after I wrote this post last night, I came back down and made another card as well! Here it is, it is a 4 1/4 square card.I just have to say a big "THANK YOU" to all you gals who stop by my blog from SPCC. a CARDS BLOG challenge

I have never played in one of the Cards Blog challenges. There is always a time for firsts! The challenge was to make a valentine card without using red or pink! That way it could be a card that you could use at any time of the year!
Well, here's what I came up with!
I used some 12 x 12 paper by Making Memories that I bought some time ago. I love black and white, and I also loved that this paper had "holes" in it so that it could be layered and you could see bits of color through some of the flower petals. I broke up a sentiment from Technique Tuesday, Ali Edwards, Loving Words....I thought it worked! I love orange and this blue color together, one of my favorite combinations! I added some orange bling to the centers of a few of the flowers to hopefully bring out the orange ink of the words!
Well this is the second post for today, so I'm going to keep it short. I want to go have some ice cream and watch TV!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

ETBKS Challenge #8 - Boxtops!

Okay, so I had way more fun with this challenge than I thought I would, and I love the end result way more than I thought I would......so technically if I had that much fun is it really a challenge? And I thought box tops were just for cutting out and sending to school! Today has kinda felt like a waste of a day. I have Cody home sick from school today, which actually I don't really mind. He is 8, and my oldest, so he isn't too needy. It's basically just given me the excuse to be lazy. We finished on of his chapter books together, and have been working on some Cub Scout stuff as well. Besides that, I've just been trying to catch up on my never ending task of laundry and just keeping him company. Grandma picked up Sam after preschool and kept him for the afternoon, and in about 45 minutes they will pick Dylan up at school and be home....then the craziness will begin. I'm just happy I got to make this card.....cuz from here on out, I won't get a moment to myself!!!

Well, here is the card I made for this challenge.
I used an actual top of a box, too!!! I cut off the top of a Nutri-grain bar box, roughed-up, or distressed the edges a bit with a bone folder, just to give it some texture, and then sponged More Mustard ink onto it!
Here is the back side of the top of the box.....I liked how it had that little indentation for the flap from the other side of the box to fit in.....
Here is what it looked like after distressing it!
And I actually used my Beautiful Butterflies Die for the first time. I can't believe how long it has been sitting around here! But yay, I finally put it to use! And I'm proud to say that I used up some old SU dsp that I had laying around.....love using up stuff I already have.

Well, that's it for today, I'm going to go and get my last little bit of one-on-one time with the Codster before the others get home!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Sketchy Thursday Just in the nick of time.....

I have had SO much going on, that I didn't even realize that I hadn't posted in a week! Are there any of you still out there that come and stop by? I really can't get into details, but there has definitely been a lot dumped on my plate of life.....and I'm still trying to figure out where do begin to dig in!

But enough about that.....I had such good intentions of playing along with Sketchy Thursday, but then by today, I realized that it most likely was not going to happen. Luckily for me, Kerry took all 3 boys to his soccer game tonight, so that allowed me a little bit of time to myself. After taking the dog for a walk, I was going to take a warm shower and just crawl into bed with my book, but something was calling to me from my craft room!!!!
So without further ado, here is the card that I put together for this weeks' Sketchy Thursday! I just bopped over to Tracy's blog, and I was so excited to see so many entries for this week's challenge! I flipped the sketch onto its side to make a vertical card.

And here is the inside.
There is so much more I could say, but I'm going to keep this short as I still do want that shower and a little more quiet time before the circus comes home!!!
