Laundry and some Moxie Fab Paper Piecing

So I have finally motivated myself for today....we'll see how long it lasts. I just got some laundry going, and now I can get onto some card making!
My mom came over this morning and took the older boys to school and then took Sam home with her for a couple of hours. I love my mom! I am so very thankful that she lives so close and is so willing to help me out in these last few weeks of this pregnancy! I know that she is sacrificing a lot of her time to help me out, and I couldn't be more grateful! If you would have asked me 15 or 20 years ago, if I would love having my mom so close and be able to see her so often, I most likely would have laughed! But it's amazing what time and experience does to us. I am so thankful that I can count my mom as one of my closest friends!

Okay, so now onto some cards that I wanted to make for the Moxie Fab Paper Piecing Challenge. This couldn't have come at a better time for me. Y'all know how much I've been trying to use up my obnoxiously endless stash of PP that I have. And what better way to do it than with a Moxie Fab Challenge. Here's the cards I did using different forms of paper piecing:

Well, I think I got a bit carried away! I have just been SO into using PP lately, I just couldn't stop at one card....and since it's been a bit tough to get my mojo flowing, I figured that I might as well just keep on going until I am out of juice!!! Thanks for the challenge. Cath! I had SO SO much fun with this one! And that's what paper crafting is all about, right? Enjoying yourself and having fun with it.

I can't decide which card is my favorite. I think it might be the one with the cut out flowers with the corduroy button......let me know what you think!

My mom just brought Sam back home, so I think this may be my stopping point for today!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

My, Oh My!

Well, I can't believe I am actually posting something today. I got food poisoning yesterday, and still pretty much feel like death warmed over. Totally not fun when you're a few weeks from having a baby. But it feels good to be out of bed or the recliner, so here I am.
I also needed to get this card made for card swap tonight......even though I feel like crap, I gotta go spend some girl time with my stamping friends! And Heather is hosting tonight, so it's right across the street, what could be easier!

I wanted to do something easy and quick, and I am just in love with this paper 'Farm Fresh' from October Afternoon
Here's a close up of the Tiny Twinkles on the butterflies.
Gonna keep this short, I have to go pick up the boys from school in less that an hour, so I'm going to try to get some more rest in!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Another PP Project: Magnets!

Well, I have found yet another way in which to use up that stash of patterned paper!
Magnets!
These are some mini magnets and I made them using pp from PTI: Pretty Pastels. I have made a boatload of others, some larger ones and more mini's, but haven't taken pictures of them yet....I'll try to get those and post them asap! So check back here later today or tomorrow!
I know I've seen these around in so many places and I have even made some before...but it's been a few years. I had the magnets and the little clear rock things sitting around now for some time, so I decided to use them up, along with some more pp. Can you tell that I'm trying desperately to use stuff up and clean stuff out? Can anyone say nesting?

These are also a super fun project to do with kids....either letting them make them with patterned paper, or by letting them make a little picture/drawing....I have a couple of these that the kids did YEARS ago. And I love them....it's a fun way for them to make the magnets that holds their own artwork on the fridge.

Thanks for stoppping by and have a beautiful day!

No PP here.....just stamps!

I know I need to be using up my pp stash, but I have had this idea in my head for about a month now, and the other night after card class was all over, and my craft table was all nice and clear, I just had to make this card.
It's simple, I know, but I just love all these different cupcakes, and I didn't want to add to much to take away from their cuteness.

I was kinda hoping for some crafting/stamping time this weekend, but with the weather being sunny and around 60 degrees, and with multiple baseball games, cub scout field trip, and everything else, I don't know that I will!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Polka Dotted Flowers for Sketchy Thursday!

So here's the card I made for Tracy's Sketchy Thursday! I just love this little Polka Dot Flower set! So cute!I did get to use a sentiment from one of my new PTI sets as well, so yeah for new stamps and old paper!
And this card used up more of the patterned paper that I have....although I think that every card I have made in the past week or so has used some, I have not even made the slightest dent.

And, naughty me, I bought more today......would someone please plan an intervention!!!!!

Well, I just wanted to get this posted today, I don't have much time so this is going to be super short.....we have another baseball game this afternoon! And New Moon came out on DVD today, so I'm going to try to get the kiddos to bed early so Kerry and I can have a movie night tonight.....he went and saw Twilight in the theatre, but never made it to New Moon.....I hope that he'll be willing to watch it with me!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

EBTKS: You Make Me Smile

Oh, my! I saw this challenge a number of days ago....and y'all know how much I love playing along with challenges.....but if you've kept up with the past few posts, you know that I've been seriously lacking with my crafting mojo. But lo and behold I actually made a card for this challenge! Yay me......if I'm allowed to toot my own horn. It is VERY simple, though....so maybe I shouldn't be too excited for myself.
I did get to use a sentiment from a stamp set that I just got last week from PTI: Signature Greetings! Just love these sentiments! Super fun!

The images are from a stamp set that I have had for what feels like forever. It seems like I go through so many stamp sets, as new stuff is constantly coming out.....and I get rid of a lot of sets as I get new ones, but this was one of those that I just couldn't part with for some reason. It's a SU set called Good Things Grow!

Side note: As I am sitting here typing this, my husband who is wanting me to come up and watch some TV with him, just looked at the card I made for this and said....'I like this down at the bottom, what do ya call it? A scallop?' And I answered him affirmatively and he wouldn't believe me.....I think he's just a little embarrassed that he actually knows the correct name of a crafting paper punch! Hee hee! So if ya see him, don't let on that y'all know that HE knows crafting terms.....

Well, it's getting late, and I should go up and watch some stuff with Kerry since I will soon be asleep....not by choice, it's just getting tougher and tougher to stay awake these days......which will most likely be my story for the next year or so!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

So uninspired.....

Well, my friends, I am sad to say that I have nothing to show in this post....just a little whining. I so have been wanting to make some cards the past number of days, and then yesterday, I sat down to make a card, and ya know what? I just couldn't. I sat around, pitiful as all get up, and just stared at the paper in front of me. No ideas, no inspiration what so ever! I am hoping to day might be a little better on the mojo front....but between daylight savings time and being in the last few weeks of this pregnancy, it's not looking too promising!

But perhaps I'll be able to give up my pity party here, and create something awesome! There's always hope, right?

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Patterned Paper on Something Besides a Card

Hi everyone-
I felt so great about having a few posts in a row there.....I actually pre-posted them. It seemed like the only way.

I wanted to share this project with y'all. It's so easy, and so fun, and I think they turn out really cute! And in keeping to my goal of using up my obnoxious stash of pp, I even used some for this project!
They are clothes pins that have been decorated, and then you hang a ribbon up and then use the clothes pins to hold up pictures, art work, basically whatever you want. I made this set for a sample for my friend Katherine who is teaching this as a little mini craft class for the ladies group at church.I did mine for a little boys room, because, well, that's my world with three boys and the fourth one to hopefully be here within the next month! I wish I would have taken a picture of them attached to the ribbon. But oh, well! Perhaps after the class when I get them back I'll do that. I think I might use them with these vintage alphabet cards I have and hang it over the baby's crib....that is if we ever get around to setting it up!
I have a bunch of these clothes pins decorated in Christmas theme that I use to hang all the Christmas cards we receive in a lighted garland! It is really cute, next Christmas I will take a picture of it and post it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Another PP stash card....old paper, new stamps!!!

Okay, so I've now made two cards using up that hoarded stash of patterned paper. This paper is probably just as old as the paper I used to make the card on my previous post.
I saw this little polka dot flower stamp set on some one's (can't remember who, though.....lack of brain cells, I guess) blog and I just had to have it. It's from 'There She Goes Stamps'. Super cute polka dot flowers, and it was only $5! And as it turns out, this stamp company is only a couple of hours from where I live. It's located in a town that is about half way to the beach house.....it's usually the place we pit stop along our drives......what a small world.
I even cased the colors that I saw this stamp used in. And they just happen to be one of my favorite pairings of colors. I just can't get over how much I love these polka dotted flowers......so be aware, you're probably going to see A LOT more of them in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Patterned Paper, Anyone?

Are any of you out there like me? Do you have TONS of patterned paper laying around that you bought because it was so stinkin' cute that you had to have it for a project or a set of cards, but just couldn't bring yourself to use it....because you might need it for that special something someday?
Well, I am guilty as charged. I think I have enough patterned paper to support a small country, or at least open by own store....so sad, I know!

I finally decided today that I have had enough....if there is anything I have learned about crafting, or fashion or anything else, it is that there WILL ALWAYS be something around that next corner that is just as good, cute or amazing, if not better!!!

So, here is the first, of what I hope to be many cards using up my obnoxious stash of patterned paper.....
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

A card for a Green Tuesday Trigger....

So here is a card I have for this weeks' Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World Blog. I don't know if the card necessarily is inspired by anything in the picture apart from the colors......but for now, that will just have to do.
I used three different shades of green in this card. I just love this little turtle. I just had to have this set with all the cute little animals....great for baby cards, and kids' birthday cards, just plain great all the way around if ya ask me.
I'm going to keep it short.....I have card class tonight....the gals should be here in under 2 hours and I still have to make dinner!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Just a card

I actually made this card about a month ago....I cased it from a card I saw in a local stamp shop. I am usually happy with the card stock I have to make cards with, but when I saw this little card, I just had to buy the card stock and matching envelopes.....it probably doesn't show up very well in the picture, but it's this shimmery light green....oh so pretty. The envelopes are shimmery too! So cute. They came in a package of 10. I just might have to make them all up and give them away as a gift. One of those splurge purchases, I guess.
I really would love to have some time to stamp....but it just seems like I have so much going on that I haven't had the time...with baseball starting up this week, and this year having all three boys involved in it.....I'm going to be lucky to be able to find some moments to myself.....and as I realize that I am going to have a new baby in the house next month.....I am desperately trying to get things clean, clean, clean, as well as locate some of my long forgotten baby stuff. Busy times.
The one most exciting thing though, is that I think I finally found a name for the little guy. We'll have to see if he matches the name when he comes out.....hopefully it will fit or he might get named batman.......
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

The Third Post for the day, you say?

So, my friends, here it is....the card I crated for the Embellish Magazine Color Challenge with Borders.....atleast I hope this card qualifies....I think it has enough borders.....And since this is my third post for the day, I'm going to keep it short....mostly cuz now I'm off to pick up the kids at school, and then Sam has his second day of baseball practice! Atleast we don't have anything going on tonight.....and I can just relax!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.

Sketchy Thursday #73.....on Thursday!!!!

Can you believe it? First off, this is my second post for the day......before lunch, mind you.....(there must be something in the water), and not only that.....but I haven't been able to play along with Tracy's Sketchy Thursday in a few weeks. I had to make a card for this sketch today, or things might have ended up like they have the past few weeks.....where Wednesday night rolls around, and I haven't made a card.
I used this stamp set that I actually got a couple of months ago, but just haven't played around with it that much.....I just love these little houses!!! Super adorable. And the sentiment is one of my favorites as well....we have some good family friends, and this sentiment has kind of become an inside joke with all of us!!! Good times!
Well, I am so very happy to have finished this card this morning, and I think I might even have a bit of time to pop in some laundry and clean up a little before I have to go pick up Sam at Pre-school.
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
Supplies:
Paper: Soft Suede, Whisper White CS, both SU. Patterned Paper.....unknown ( it was from a Taylored Expressions monthly kit from a while back)
Inks: Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Rididng Hood Red, Tangerine Tango, More Mustard, Pretty in Pink, all SU
Stamps: Good Neighbors, Small Sayings, both SU
Other: Uniball White gel pen, dimensionals!

Craft Day.....and a card to share!

Okay, so I don't know where I have been. Just not stamping or doing anything exciting, that's for sure....well, my birthday was this past weekend, so there actually was some excitement. Kerry and I went out to dinner and a movie Friday night, and then Saturday night (the actual day), we got together with a bunch of friends.....super fun times!!!
There is so much I could/should be doing right now, but honestly all I want to do is craft right now, so I'm going have me a crafting day today.....laundry and dishes and cleaning can wait, right?

Well I did want to share a card on this post that I made a couple of weeks ago, with a new stamp that I got. I just love it! It reminds me of a lolli-pop tree!

It's a pretty simple card, but sometimes I think that's perfect! Hopefully I will have some serious stamping mojo going on here in the next few hours so be sure to stop back by.....I'm hoping for atleast one more post today!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day.
