Shortest Post EVER: A sketchy Thursday Challenge

Hey there!
Things have been crazy around here.

I actually made this card on Monday, but I'm just now posting it and need to get it done super quick as I have card swap with all my girls in an hour and a half, and I haven't prep'd AT ALL!

I better get busy.

Anyway, here is the card I did for Tracy's Sketchy Thursday!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

SPCC Color Challenge #32

This is today's second post....

So I haven't stamped in a number of days....things have just been sorta crazy! And when I mentions "things" and "crazy".......I mean me, and in a not so good way! But today I'm kinda feeling back to normal. Cody and Dylan are off at School, and my mom just came by to pick up Sam for the afternoon. I should really be taking a nap since I didn't sleep last night, but I just wanted to make a couple cards first for the SPCC Color Challenge!
I saw these colors and turned around to my craft table; there were about 8 or 9 SU ink pads sitting there, and no joke, Creamy Caramel, and Basic Grey were both on the top of either stack! Two ink pads down, was Close to Cocoa. It was meant to be, I had to make a card!

Well, I made two!
Close up of Bobby:Thought this might be a cute birthday card for a child.....perhaps I'll give it to Sam for his birthday in April.....my poor kids almost never get a card from mom! I was over looking at some Valentine cards that Kristina Werner did for her MACM, and so I sorta cased the layout she used for these cards! They are pretty simple, but they went together really quickly, which is nice....now I can go take my nap!

Supplies:
Bobby Bird Card: Paper: Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, Close to Coccoa. Inks: Staz On, Jet Black, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Basic Gray, Copics: EOO. Stamps: Bobby Bird (Poppy Stamps). Extras: Basic Gray Satin Ribbon, SU scallop trim border punch.

Happy Birthday Card: Paper: Whisper White, Creamy Caramel. Inks: Close to Cocoa. Stamps: Fox and Friends, Happy Moments, both SU. Extras: Scalloped Border Punch. Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Corner Chomper, Basic Gray Satin Ribbon.

A few single layer cards

I know it's been a number of days since I've posted.....things have been a little tough around here, but I found a little time this morning and some motivation, and I'm happy I got to stamp!
I found a new challenge blog today.... Stampin' Royalty actually I didn't really find it, but Sandra gave me the link to it! Thanks, Sandra!

Well I set out to make a card for this challenge, and I couldn't just limit myself to one card, so I made three! So fun and kinda refreshing to make such simple cards....well, I guess they didn't have to be simple even though they are only a single layer, but I chose to make mine simple. I think I made the 3 of these in under 15 minutes!!!

This one has this sentiment on the inside!

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
Supplies:
Kind Thanks: Paper: Whisper White. Inks: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip. Stamps: Eclectic Backgrounds, Happy Moments, Thank You Kindly, all SU. Extras: Adhesive Pearl
Thanks: Paper: Whisper White. Inks: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze. Stamps: Impress Rubber Stamps. Extras: Martha Stewart Ribbon Tape.
Happy Bird Day: Paper: Whisper White. Inks: Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Cameo Coral, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip. Stamps: Funky Garden (Hampton Arts) Picture This, SU. Extras: Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon, Corner Chomper

A card for a Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

This is my second post for today. Keep on going or click here if you would like to see a picture of what inspires me, along with the card that was inspired by it! Wow! What a great picture for inspiration! What great colors. They seem so crisp and classic to me. I like neutrals with a splash of one particular color! Very fun.
Here is the card I made that was inspired by this Tuesday Trigger picture!
I have a huge framed picture of this same image when you come down the stairs into my family room and craft room....and the funniest thing is it's in the same color!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Supplies: Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, all SU. Inks: Whisper White Craft Ink, Baja Breeze . Stamps: Baroque Background, Keep Calm and Carry On, Rubber Soul. Extras: Stitched Baja Breeze Ribbon, Scallop Border Punch

What Inspires Me

I was reading this post on the Moxie Fab World blog, and it started me thinking about what inspires me. There are a lot of places and things that I find my inspiration from when it comes to card making and crafting, but I would have to say one of my favorites is from magazines. All sorts of magazines. Whether it's pictures that inspire color themes or invoke certain layouts....I have a lot of my inspiration come from these. I go through all the magazines that I receive, and believe me, there are a bunch of them (that story to come a bit later), and I cut out pictures and things that I like...I put them in plastic page protectors and I have a huge 3 ring binder, actually 2 of them now, that I have all my magazine cut outs in! It's super fun sometimes just to sit down and see all the different ideas that I am in love with. And I find that my tastes change, so every once in a while I will go through my notebooks and purge them.

So here is a picture that I saw, that I just fell in love with:
This is out of the February 2010 Family Circle. From the second I saw this picture, I just fell in love with it, which is funny, because this is not a color scheme that you would find in my house, or that I would go to own my own in the card making realm. Yet, there was something about it that is so fresh and spring-like.

It was both colors and the patterns on the pillows and in the picture frames that caught my eye! I decided though, mostly to go with the colors, although, I tried to use a stamp that had leaves similar to the green leaved pillow. The stripes in my ribbon mimic the ribbon in the frames as well as the stripes in the pillow.

Here's my card that was inspired by the picture! The funny thing is that I pulled out probably one of my oldest stamps sets! I go through stamp sets like crazy, and usually get rid of a bunch that are old and/or retired from SU, but I don't think I will ever get rid of this one. It's like family to me!

Here's the story: A year ago Christmas, a bunch of people must have gotten together and decided I needed a bunch of subscriptions for magazines, because I got a bunch that year. Here are some of my favorites for inspiration that have come to the house: Domino(which doesn't exist anymore, but was FABULOUS), Martha Stewart, Sunset, Better Homes & Gardens, Real Simple, Family Circle, O, Gourmet, (yes, I actually have found inspiration in food!!!.....and table settings too!)

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Supplies: Paper: Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Whisper White, all SU. Inks: Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron. Stamps: Upsy Daisy, sentiment. Buds n' Blossoms, image. Extras: Wild Wasabi striped ribbon, Swiss dots cuttlebug folder, Scallop Border Punch, Corner chomper.

Another Try....Sketchy Thursday #66

This is today's 3rd post, (I know, I know) so keep going if you would like to see what else I have been up to today!

I disliked the first card I submitted for this challenge, and I've been thinkin' about it all week. I wanted to make another card, but just never did it until tonight!

So here is my second take on the challenge! I still wanted to use an owl, but I think this guy fits the paper better than my first one.
Gonna keep this short tonight...I'm really tired, but I did want to get this posted!

Thanks for stopping by and have beautiful day!

Supplies: Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze; SU. Bo Bunny Love Bandit PP. Inks: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa. Hearts for a friend

This is the 2nd post for today....so keep going if you'd like to see more!!!

I have been following this color challenge for a while now, but have never played! Well, today all that has changed. Of course I would pick the week when the color combination was the most difficult for me, wouldn't I?
Well, here's my card.... it's really simple, but it was sort of refreshing. I can't believe I used all SU supplies for this one.....it seems like I often set out to try to make a card using only SU supplies, but it never fails that some element is from somewhere else!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a beautiful day!

Supplies: Paper: Apricot Appeal, Read Red, Whisper White. Inks: Apricot Appeal, Real Red, Pretty in Pink. Stamps: I {heart} hearts. Extras: Pretty in Pink striped ribbon, Real Red Corduroy Buttons, Scallop Border Punch, Corner Rounder.

A birthday card for 2 Sketches 4 You

I haven't done one of these sketches in a while, so I thought I would give it a whirl! It didn't come together as easily as I had hoped, but I did get it made while Sam was at Pre-school this morning, and boy am I happy I finished because he has been giving me grief ever since I picked him up.....it's going to be a long afternoon! I am just in love with this cake image! I love cake stamps to begin with, and flowers too, so this is a perfect combination, I think! The pp is from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush collection.

Here's a close-up of the cake!
Thanks for stopping by! And have a beautiful day!

EBTKS Challenge and a little FREAKING OUT!

This is my second post for the day.....so keep going if you would like to see some of the cards I made for Winter's St. Jude's card drive!Oh, they really shouldn't do this to pregnant ladies....as I was in the middle of making my card for the EBTKS challenge, my phone rang and it was my OB's office telling me that my doctor broke her arm and is going to be out about 7 weeks. Really not too big of a deal, I guess, since I still have a little over 12 weeks to go; she should be back by then, but my hormones just got the best of me and I can't stop crying. So for the next two months, it looks like I'm going to be seeing a midwife. I tried to get in with the doctor that delivered Sam, because he came 2 weeks late, over a weekend that my doctor was out of town, but that doctor has cut down her practice and is only on call. She's not seeing patients in the office. I have not been feeling all that well lately, and was really looking forward to seeing my doctor, she is the best OB in the world. I feel like I can talk to her like one of my friends....I don't feel like just a patient or just a number. It's really tough to find people like that, and they just shouldn't be taken away from you when you are this hormonal. This pregnancy has been really difficult on me, but I guess I haven't learned what I am supposed to yet, because God needed to put another hurdle in my way. I just pray that I will be able to handle this one gracefully.

Okay, now I can share my card that I made for the EBTKS challenge. I have been really into the red glitter lately! I don't know why....we can blame that on the crazy hormones too! LOL! I decided to use a heart shape in lieu of the circle, and my placement is a little off from the sketch as well, but hopefully that's okay!
As I was making this card, for some reason it just seemed natural to keep it going to the inside of the card. I guess that Moxie Fab World Challenge has really rubbed off on me. So here's what the inside of my card looks like as well.
Well, one of my little guys is home sick with the "throw up bug" today, so I best get tending to him....plus I am really in need of a shower!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope everyone out there has a fabulous day!
Supplies: Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, both SU. Bo Bunny Love Bandit line. Inks: Chocolate Chip, Real Red. Stamps: I {heart} hearts, SU clear mount stamps! Extras: Martha Stewart Glitter in Garnet, Scallop Border Punch.

Valentine Cards for St. Jude's

I can't believe I am so late in doing this.....but better late than never, right? A fellow blogger of mine, Winter is doing a Valentine Card Drive for the children at St. Jude's.
To find out the details of this card Drive, you can go here to Winder's blog. The deadline is January 25th, which is coming up really quick......so if you want to participate, I strongly suggest you get stamping!!!

Here are the five cards that I will be sending. I'm going to see how many of each card I can make over the weekend and get them in the mail on Tuesday!!! My goal is to do 10 of each card, for a total of 50 cards.......but we'll see what time allows me. I was going to work on them today, but one of my kiddos is home sick with the "throw up bug" as we call it in our house....so my good intentions may be thwarted....
Thanks for stopping by, and have a most lovely day!

A quick Birthday Color Throwdown

This is post #2 for today....keep on going to see the card I made for Tracy's Sketchy Thursday!
I made this card.....and in my mind before it hit paper, was fabulous. Now that I look at it in reality, I think it was better in my head! Oh, well! I had wanted to use some new stamps that I got this week, and so it atleast served that purpose!!! It did come together really quick, which is sometimes nice if ya have to make a card in a hurry!
Loved these colors....I think I migt try to make some more cards this weekend using this color pallete!

Gonna keep this short....gotta go make dinner for the fam!

Thanks for stopping by!

A simple card for Sketchy Thursday #66

I promised myself, even though it was Sketchy Thursday, that I wouldn't make a card for it today. I would wait for tomorrow, since I have my craft room all cleaned up and ready for card class tonight.

Well, that didn't work.
And to boot, I don't know how keen I am on this card. It's cute, but nothing spectacular. And I just realized as I am looking at the card on the screen, that the owl is really crooked! Oops! We'll blame it on hormones! Perhaps I'll just have to make another card for the challenge this weekend!
I've been stamping a lot this week, which is fabulous, but I have also been blog hopping WAY too much, and there are so many talented women out there, who make so many incredible cards and paper crafts, I just don't know if I should be entering all these challenges with them. I do love to stamp, and it definitely is an outlet for me, I just wonder if I should keep all these things I make to myself! There are so many of you out there who truly inspire me. And I just don't feel like I should be in the same arena.

Okay, enough whining for one day....sorry to all you who read my sappiness.

Thanks for stopping by!

An Embellish Color Challenge

This is today's 3rd post, so keep on scrolling if you'd like to see the other things I've been up to on this crafty day of mine!!!

Wow! I have just been crafting all day! I dropped Cody and Dylan off at school and then ran Sam over to preschool, and was home by 9:45, and had until I picked up the boys from school at 3:00! Thanks mom, for picking up Sam from preschool and keeping him for the afternoon! I took a brief hiatus from the time we all got home until now, that all my boys are sleeping peacefully in their beds.....ahhhhhhh!
I wasn't going to make a card for this challenge, just because I found out about it today, and the deadline is like tomorrow sometime, but I came down here after putting the kiddos to bed and an idea just popped into my head, so I decided to give it a try! Here's what I came up with!
I'm really excited about red glitter right now, not quite sure why, but I had to have some on this card!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a fabulous day!

A Moxie Fab World Color Challenge!

This is my second post for today, so keep on going if you would like to see what I did for another Moxie Fab challenge earlier in the day!

I am always looking for new challenges, and it seems that my blogging friend Kelley, always is up to something that I've never played in before. I don't know how she does it....so talented and she just keeps pumping out amazing cards! Wow!

Anyway, I saw that Kelley had played in this challenge, and so I went over and had a little look at it, and decided to go ahead and play. Here's the card I came up with:
Thanks for stopping by!

A Moxie Fab Inside and Out Complete Valentine!

Hi!

So here's the card I made for this Moxie Fab Challenge! The challenge was to make a card that wasn't just amazing on the outside, or front of the card, but to make it exciting when it was opened too! There are times when I choose to do this on my own, but it does seem that I get so caught up in just pumping out the fronts of cards, that I forget to make the insides exciting too!

So I first stamped this image, and it came out like you see it here on the card; it didn't stamp completely, so I tried again, and got the image perfect, but then I decided that I kinda liked it not complete.....it kinda had a bit of a vintage or rough feel to it, so I decided to go with the original one I stamped. I think it gives it more texture!

For the inside, I placed the sentiment, and added a big happy red glittered heart! I thought it was cute since I had a little outlined heart glittered on the front.
I had stopped at Michael's yesterday to pick up some glitter and I found this tree heart stamp there, thought it was cute so I picked it up! Kind of a pain to have to ink up a stamp with pens, but I think the result is well worth it!

Thanks for stopping by......hope y'all have a Fabulous Day!

Some new stuff for a Sunday Sketch Challenge!

Hi!
It seems kinda sad when every one of my posts lately seems to begin the same way...."It's been so long since I've participated in ______". But that's just been the case. So it's nothing new, that it has been a very long time since I have participated in one of Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenges. I was so excited to be able to play this week.

I got to use some new stamps and a new gadget I bought last night! I bought one of those mini staplers....I love it...the staples are so tiny and cute!!! I'm probably way behind and all of you out there probably already have one, but I am just so excited to have found this new toy!!!!
I got a whole load of new stamps on Monday! Most of them are the new Clear Mount Stamps from Stampin' UP! I have a love hate relationship with clear mount/ acrylic stamps. Its hard enough for me as it is to keep all my wood mounted stamps straight (I'm not good at putting them away where they belong when I'm done with them.) And I'm even worse with my acrylic/clear mounted ones, because I rip 'em off the clear blocks to use with another stamp, and before I know it, I have like this HUGE pile of acrylic and rubber that need to go back to their homes.

Anyway, enough rambling. I absolutely love the new clear mounted stamps from SU! The cases they come in are awesome....I love that the images are on the front cover as well as the spine of the case....have you ever been looking at stacks and stacks of stamp sets and just can't remember exactly which set the stamp you're looking for is in? Well, they are all mounted on the spine now!!! I think someone made these just for me! And the acrylic blocks that they have are the BEST I have ever used. I have clear blocks from many different companies, and these ones are hands down the best ones ever.....well there's my plug for Stampin' UP.
Thanks for stopping by!

A Valentine Card

Happy Monday!
I started this card on Friday....but am not getting it posted until now! For some reason I have a real tough time with Valentine's cards, I don't know!
It was quite a whirlwind of a weekend, and the past two nights I have not really slept.....I have been waking up with the worst indigestion ever! I'm eating tums like they are a food group. I'm surprised this is happening so early on! I talked to my mom last night and she suggested I try what she calls a real bland diet.....I think I started crying....no salsa? No 3 star Thai food? But I guess I should cut some of these things out and see if it helps....cuz normally I love sleep and getting to that point at night when its time to go to bed, and now I'm afraid because I just feel like my insides are on fire and that I want to die....not a good thing!

Anyway, enough whining.....it's a rainy, rainy day out today, and I'm hoping that Sam will stay occupied enough today for me to get a lot of stamping done!

Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchy Thursday #65, and some eye candy for Tracy!!!

Hey all!

I'm so happy that Sketchy Thursday is back! It was nice to have a break, I don't think I stamped for like 3 weeks, though! Yikes! Just got carried away with all the craziness of Christmas! I have been stamping this week like crazy....well it probably just feels like that! But I've made 4 cards this week, and hope to get another few done this morning before Sam has his Indoor Soccer and then I have to pick up the other crazies from school!!!

Tracy totally inspired me with her card, to use some Taylored Expressions stamps! So I pulled mine out, but didn't really see any that I felt like using.....kind of a stampers stupor, I guess. Finally I decided on the little purses....I had never inked them or the sentiment up before! And it's the most perfect card to send to my best friend in Colorado! (Hope she doesn't read this before it gets to her in the mail!!!)
I used some PP that I had laying around from one of my TE Key Ingredients Kits, I just wish I could remember what company or what the paper is called, so if you recognize it, let me know! Thanks! I subscribed to those kits for about 6 months, loved 'em. The only thing is that I acquired way too much solid card stock from them. I wish you could just order the PP and embellishment parts! Plus I was trying to cut back on spending, so I've given it a rest for a while.

Here's a close up of the image and sentiment:
And now for a bit of eye candy......I have to laugh because although I love Edward, and I'm all about Twilight, I'm not obsessed with Rob per say (hopefully he doesn't read my blog and won't find out!).....perhaps if I were 15 years younger!!!! LOL! But I was in Blockbuster before Christmas, usually we Netflix, so I'm not really ever at the video store, and as I was looking at all the new releases, there was this one called 'Robbert Patinson, All Access' Oh, my, I was laughing so hard! I couldn't believe that it as actually a featured new release film.......
Okay, so I think I've been long enough today, really I meant to keep it real short! Oops!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great Weekend! Happy Friday! (I'm hoping for a date night tonight, but that probably means I would have to shower! LOL!)

Supplies: Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Patterned Paper from ?. Inks: Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Blender Pen. Stamps: TE Downtown Diva set. Extras: Chocolate Chip twill ribbon, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Nestabilites Dies, Rhinestones!

It's been a LONG time!!!

This is the second post for today, so you'll have to scroll down to see the other card I made!
So I was just dinkin' around, dropping by some of my favorite blogs and I thought I would see what Kristina was up to.....and lo and behold, I could not even believe my eyes when here web page came up! Another color challenge!!!!

Kristina's color inspiration challenges were the main reason of why I started this silly blog! I would look at them week after week, and even make some cards for some of them, and then one day, I just decided that I would start a blog and start playing along. I have really been sad that she hasn't been doing them lately, but I of all people can understand. Life is really busy. For all of us in a million different ways.

So, wow! These colors have really stumped me. I have a stamp set that I just ordered, that I think would be PERFECT for these colors, but since I don't have it yet, I'll just have to make do.

Well, this is what I came up with! I love all the flowers, but it was a lot of cutting!!! I did have a lot of fun putting all the flowers on though....usually when I have a lot of things to layer and put together, I practice first and then go back and adhere them, trying my best to get them in the same place....this time I just put dimensionals on the back and stuck them on, so what you see was my first attempt at placement!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: Paper: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Patterned Paper. Inks: Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, So Saffron, Cameo Coral. Stamps: Sentiment: Inkadinkado; Itty Bitty Buds, Eclectic Backgrounds. Extras: Corner rounder punch, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Coral Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Buttons.

You are my Sunshine......color challenge #24!

Can't resist one of Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenges!

Here were the colors she gave out for everyone to work with!
And....here's my card using these fabulous colors! After not stamping for more than 3 weeks, and making 2 cards in under 24 hours, I must say that I'm a pretty happy girl!
It seems like I'm just squeezing in stamping time here and there....I would love to have an entire afternoon to just sit and play, but as a mom of 3 very busy boys, it's not looking too likely in the near future! But that's okay....I'll take the bits and pieces of time where ever I can get them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Funny story of the day!

Okay, so this is the second post for today, just a little funny story, but if you want to see a card, you'll have to scroll down to the Color Throwdown post!

So with the baby on the way, I had to get a new infant car seat.....after Sam grew out of it, we gave it away, not wanting to have to store it and take up room in the garage, not knowing how long it would be until we had another baby, or if we would decide to have one.

The new car seat was delivered the other day, and I opened it up and was looking at it, I wanted to make sure that the base and everything would fit well in our car. Well, I attempted to take the carrier out of the base, and couldn't do it! I was pushing all the buttons, and pulling on things, and could not for the life of me figure out how to get it out! And of course I couldn't look at the instruction manual......I knew it had to be a one handed thing, since you have to lift the carrier out with the other hand, but I sat there, seriously for like 10 minutes trying to figure it out......really, I've had 3 kids, you would think I could do this, but it has been 5 years.....how embarrassing....I did figure it out, and I'm thankful I gave it a try before the baby was in it, in the car! Stuck! Crazy pregnant lady with no brain cells......lol!!!

Oh, and just for giggles, here's a picture of the car seat....with the cat! I guess she felt she needed to break it in for us!!!

Thanks for stopping by....have a great day!
