As promised, here are some pictures of Kellan. I woke up at about 2:45am Saturday morning with Contractions....they were pretty intense, and continued to become more so. We went to the hospital about 6am, and they checked and admitted me. Then they let us go take a little walk to go get some breakfast, and by the time we came back, my contractions were getting pretty bad. I decided at that I would get an epidural at that point, which was the best decision I could have made at that point.....the anesthesiologist was AWESOME.....he was so fast and so good, and in little time, my discomfort was gone and they broke my water to get the contractions to get closer together and get me the rest of the way dilated. (I was about a 5 or 6 at this point). The boys had finished their baseball games, and grandma and grandpa brought them by. It was so good to see them!!! I kept contracting, they were coming every 1 1/2 to two minutes, but with the epidural I was able to rest and even get some sleep......waking up before 3am had finally caught up with me. At about 5:15 I started feeling like I needed to push....the contractions were coming one after the other, and Kathy, my nurse, checked me, and I was all dilated and ready to go.....a little over an hour later, at 6:29pm, Kellan was born. 10 lbs. 9 oz. 22 inches. He is the best baby ever.....very mellow. After he came out and got all cleaned up, he just sat on my chest and stared at me for about an hour. I am so happy that he is here, and feel so blessed to have had such an amazing labor and delivery. I am most grateful to Kerry for being by my side through it all, and for Kathy, my nurse, without whose help I could not have had such an amazing experience! And thanks to everyone whose prayers and well wished helped me along my way. I am so happy to not be pregnant and grumpy!!! Hopefully I can now start to get back to normal, and even get some stamping in really soon!
