Normally when I see a challenge that isn't my style, or that I don't think I would have an easy time with, or get a good result out of, I just pass that challenge by..."no thank you," I say. But when I saw the 4 style challenges over at the Moxie Fab World Blog, I told myself that if I was going to enter a card for one category, that I had to play in all of them.
Here is my take on the Shabby & Vintage style:

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!
Supplies:
Paper: Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla (SU) Farmhouse (October Afternoon)
Ink: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Dusty Durango (ink refill to dye flower) all SU
Stamps: French Flair, Carte Postale (SU)
Other: Jute Twine (PTI) Fabric Flower, Beads, Pearls (SU)

I made a really simple card. I originally had three rows of ric rac on the brown, kinda behind the flower image, but just didn't think that it worked, so I took two off. I really liked this card at first, but now that I am sitting here blogging about it and looking at it more, I think that it is lacking something. But I can't put my finger on exactly what that might be.
I used the Bake a Cake stamp set from Lawn Fawn that I won off of the Lawn Fawn blog a while back(A big shout out to Kelly Marie - Thanks!) I have wanted to ink these ones up for some time now, and I finally got the chance.

I took these little cubbies out of Cody and Dylan's closet and was just going to break them down and get rid of them when the thought hit me that I could use them to store all my stuff while I am waiting to clean it out and get the permanent solution in place.

Now before I digress too much more, here is the card I made for the challenge:
And I had to document my stamping area, because it is crazy, and I can't even believe that I was able to produce a card in these deplorable conditions!!!
It felt so good to make a card, and even better, to have made a card that I am really happy with! You know, how sometimes you make a card, and well, it's okay, but not something that you are really excited about? (It seems like most of the card I make fall into this category). But I was really pleasantly pleased with this card!
I think that it would be a perfect card for a summer birthday!

Wow! These colors for this weeks color challenge over at SPCC were very fall to me. Yet I wanted to make a somewhat summery card, since I'm all about summer and flowers right now! (On cards and in my garden!) I finally got to planting up some of my pots yesterday that have been sitting with the flowers still in the containers I bought them in, since Kellan was born 9 weeks ago!} But anywhoo!
